Overview & Highlights

Stay at luxury accommodation at stunning locations in three Patagonian regions of beautiful, savagely glaciated mountain countryside: Torres del Paine National Park, the Los Glaciares National Park and the volcano–dotted lake district.

Recent years have seen the creation of luxury accommodation right in the heart of Patagonia's savagely glaciated countryside. You stay at three of these properties in Torres del Paine National Park, the Los Glaciares National Park and the volcano–dotted Patagonian lake district.

The holiday plunges into the Patagonia of Chile and Argentina, an area of outstanding natural beauty which still has a remote wilderness feel. Fly south to the ice caps, glaciated jagged mountains and lakes at the tip of the Andes. Visit the minty blue, cathedral-high Perito Moreno glacier in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina, and the ice-clad towers of Torres del Paine National Park, Chile’s large and well-established reserve. The south has just a few rough roads cutting through a frost-bitten landscape of glaciers, luminous lagoons, snow-tipped pinnacles and wind-strafed steppe, but it is nevertheless readily accessible to visitors.

Travel north to explore the indigo lakes, ancient woodland and snow-capped volcanoes of the lake district in northern Patagonia where, amidst its lakeside resorts and summer visitors, is a land of fairyland forests and lonely roads carving their way through a virgin landscape.

What our clients say

  • Cuba is a fascinating country and JLA have pulled together a fantastic trip with excellent local guides. It exceeded my expectations and I do hope to return one day.

  • I had travelled on a small group tour to Peru with JLA previously, so was fully expecting to be able to completely relax, safe in the knowledge that everything would be taken care of. I was not disappointed and the tour leader had everything running superbly. My three days extension on my own also worked like clockwork.

  • It was a fantastic trip. There is an obvious division in Cuba between those who come into contact with tourists and those who don't and so, like a magnet around iron filings our very presence distorts and changes what we see. This is perhaps more the case in Cuba than elsewhere but as more people visit I hope this will reduce. It is, for the moment, part of the character of the country and part of the experience. I really can't fault the organisation of the trip and would just like to say again that our guide was fantastic at bringing the history and culture of Cuba alive for everyone.

  • An excellent choice of nature highlights in a great country, guided by a tour leader who understands both worlds and can provide unique insights. I drew energy and inspiration from this experience by visiting so many and diverse sights yet I had a very good rest - the perfect holiday. The standard of accommodation in Brazil was a bit of a disappointment for me; it looks Brazil offers in general lower standards for the same price by comparison to Europe. I think Journey Latin America have done a great job at finding a good compromise between price and quality for us.

Most memorable experience? -  Impossible to rank them, I loved every day.

  • The itinerary was fantastic and perfect for 3 weeks.

  • The most memorable part is every day we thought it couldn't get better and it did. Perito merino glacier, Torres del Paine end of world and Iguazu. Easter island was a childhood dream and it exceeded expectations. Mount FitzRoy walk was stunning.
