Where to go when - our guide to Argentina

The weather in Argentina is wide and varied
The vast, dramatic landscapes of Argentina range from steamy sub-tropical jungle and desert dunes to soaring ice-caps and thundering waterfalls. The whole country can be visited at any time of year, though there are seasonal weather variations and cultural events to take into account when planning your visit. Patagonia in the south has the most unpredictable climate, where you’ll likely experience all four seasons in a day. That said, December - February are the busiest, warmest and clearest months, with ideal conditions for outdoor explorations. In Spring (September - November) there are blooming wildflowers in the lake district and whales in the Valdes Peninsula, while autumn (March - May) offers spectacular fiery foliage in Patagonia, the pampas and Mendoza. The winter months Jun - Aug are ideal for skiing and snow sports in the lake district and Patagonia, while in Buenos Aires the streets come alive with dancing during the tango festival in August.
