Overview & Highlights

At Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival, the world's most colourful festival, you’ll have sector 9 seats at the Samba School parade.  After five days of fun move on to chic beach resort Búzios to relax.

Come to Rio and join the party. This bold, vibrant and fun-filled holiday will see you partying five days straight at the world renowned Rio Carnival - the world's most colourful festival - then moving on to relax and unwind at chic beach resort Búzios.

The larger-than-life Rio Carnival 2023 begins on 17th February. You can find out more about the festival and why you should book your carnival tickets for 2023 here.

Street bands and parties, parades, fancy-dress balls, impromptu and planned concerts and gatherings spring up all over Rio during five days of Carnival, the world's biggest party. The two-day parade of Samba Schools, in the purpose-built sambodromo, is the ultimate highlight, where the costumes, dancing and music of the competing schools whips the audience into a frenzy. One of our expert tour guides will accompany you to your seats in the well positioned Sector 9 and see you back to your hotel safely at the end.

This good value holiday includes the price of the tickets to the Rio Carnival parade, as well as a guided excursion to the Christ the Redeemer statue on top of Corcovado mountain. There's free time to enjoy the fun in the city independently. When the excitement is abruptly extinguished on Ash Wednesday you travel along the coast to the chic beach resort Búzios for a couple of days to relax and recover on a beautiful Atlantic Ocean bay.

What our clients say

  • It was our first experience of small group travel, and although on balance we prefer independant travel, to cover as many countries as we did, we couldn t have done it on our own!

  • We had an amazing time in Colombia. The itinerary was fantastic, covering nearly everything we wanted to see. Our tour leader did a great job in making the tour run smoothly and contributing to our experience. I would thoroughly recommend Colombia and JLA.

  • We enjoyed the entire holiday and it's hard to pick out a highlight. Watching a dozen scarlet macaws fly over the Copan ruins was a sight we will never forget.

  • "I saw hummingbirds, swam in the Caribbean, had a ride in a 1952 bright pink chevrolet and had guava and pineapple for breakfast. There was music, fun and sunshine everywhere. Our guide wanted us to meet her favourites - musicians, craftsmen, service people, who all had passion."

  • The brilliant weather from start to finish. Blue sky and sunshine at Moreno glacier, and of course the various animals. Truly lovely group of people and the tour leader was excellent.

  • It is an itinerary which covers different environments and allows interaction with the wonderful Colombian people plus time to see what is in each place.
