La Perla is an Amazon riverboat-styled expedition vessel offering affordable cruises in the Peruvian Amazon.
La Perla is a romantic Amazon riverboat-style expedition vessel offering four and seven night adventure cruises deep into the Peruvian jungle. A voyage travelling on this craft is itself is a wonderful experience, as you glide through the silky waters of Amazonian creeks and its tributaries discovering the secrets of the rainforest, its intense foliage and exotic wildlife. The ship has three decks, with a cosy indoor saloon and restaurant on the lower deck and an observation deck on top featuring an outdoor lounge and hammocks from where you can observe agitated macaws screeching by, watchful sloths and monkeys flitting through the trees. Maybe you’ll catch sight of a pod of pink dolphins leaping through the waves.
There are 14 air-conditioned cabins, each with a window onto the outside world, offering twin or double beds; all sporting modern sparkly white décor and a wardrobe and each having a private bathroom with shower and hair-dryer. The Amazon View cabins have access to a balcony while the larger Superior cabins on the lower deck have huge panoramic windows.
But it’s the route taken which is perhaps the biggest draw as the ship visits the wildlife-prolific Pacaya Samiriya National Reserve on both itineraries. Birdwatching, a visit to the manatee reserve, small boat excursions, walks along canopy walkways – all experiences enhanced by expert guides delivering information during the excursions and presentations on board.

Most memorable experience: “The jungle was fantastic and being alone in Lake Titicaca as well.”SD, South Ealing
Highlights?: White water rafting on the Urabamba river, Pirahna fishing and the lake titicaca tour.MH, London
It was memorable because of the cultural and geographical variety so can't pick out particular part. We were in 3 different climates, in mountains, jungle and coast. Probably enjoyed the places where we had most interactions with nature i.e. Lake Titicaca and jungle.SL,

“It is great to know that you are going to have a fantastic holiday every time you travel to Peru.JL, Cobham
We had a private tour, which we think was the best way to do this sort of trip. Although we had only 9 days in Peru in the Cuzco area, we managed to cover an extensive amount of material in depth and the whole trip was unforgettable. The local organisation was superb - punctual, knowledgeable, reliable, etc.PS, Reading

"We were so thrilled to have the 3 nights in Cusco - a) we all LOVED La Casona so much (the amazing bathrooms, the fireplaces (lit) in the bedrooms, the staff, the ambience, etc, and b) we SO enjoyed all the amazing restaurants in Cusco (we are food and wine lovers, so had a great time!). Machu Picchu was absolutely AMAZING too - something to remember forever. We did love Hotel B in Lima too, but of course we were jet-lagged and only there for 1 night....We had an amazing time in Peru - the highlight being Machu Picchu. I would strongly suggest that people should stay at the Sanctuary Lodge at the site to get the best from the experience. We loved Peru - and really loved Cusco."JH, London

The Belmond train ride to Machu Picchu followed by the tour round Machu Picchu was stunning and very memorable. However, the Amazon was also wonderful, especially the breakfast in a creek, the sunset trip, and the walk in the rainforest.MS, Alton
The Peru holiday was all very well constructed. Favourite parts were the floating islands, the nocturnal canoe trip and the trek to Macchu Picchu. Organisation was brilliant and it all hung together very well. Thanks!AMW, Letchworth
