Playa Venao Resort is a tranquil beach-side property set on a crescent of surf-friendly sands on the remote southern coast of Panama's Azuero peninsula.

It’s the location of this peaceful beachside property which is really stunning – at the end of the resort area half-way along the crescent of toffee-coloured sand, it has a wild aspect but is also close to the beach’s amenities – right next door to the best regarded restaurant, El Sitio.

The guest rooms, provided with all modern amenities, occupy individual cottages dotted around the tree-shaded property and linked with the public buildings by a network of paths. The well groomed gardens are most attractive and the easy beach access is conveniently right next door to the al fresco bar.  One of the highlights is a large free-form infinity pool overlooking the ocean, while there's also a small gym and games room. The bar and restaurant are open daily serving local and international cuisine.

The beach is perfect for surfing but isn't recommended for swimming: the lovely pool makes up for that, especially for families; there's a kid's pool and Jacuzzi too. Visits to nature reserves, hiking, biking, and water sports including snorkelling and canoeing can be arranged.

What our clients say

  • Top experiences in Panama - going through the canal and exploring Panama City and surrounding area. I was surprised to find that Panama is not just the Canal Zone!

  • "Bocas del Toro was great fun and frivolous and a great journey there by boat."

    GS, Bushey
  • We didn't realise the partial canal transit would be in such a big boat with loads of other tourists - not a problem, but would have been good for this…

    NF, Tunbridge Wells
  • "Most memorable was watching mother and baby two-toed sloths from bedroom window at Canopy Tower. Early morning on the roof of Canopy Tower listening to howler monkeys as the sun…

    NW, Kidlington
  • Most memorable experience: “Tranquillo bay was a cut above everything else.   Staying on Waidup (near Isla Tigre) was also special.”

    MH, Chiswick
  • Each part of my trip had a special moment. I loved both the new and old parts of Panama city, but my highlight there was seeing sloths while walking up…
