Gran Real Yucatan
Hotel Gran Real Yucatan is in a converted colonial mansion house with contemporary features.
The striking hotel Gran Real Yucatán displays classic colonial elegance tempered with a light and airy contemporary touch. It is just steps away from the main cathedral and plaza in the historic downtown area of Mérida, capital of Mexico’s Yucatán province.
Much of the hotel building dates back to the 19th century when it was a family house owned by a wealthy businessman. The baroque style has been conserved with wide passages, high ceilings and antique columns, the latter surrounding the central patio. All the guest rooms have a small Juliet balcony with a view to either the pool or the garden.
The restaurant serves regional Yucatecan specialities as well as international cuisine and there’s a shop, business centre and medical service.
