A delightful upmarket boutique hotel in a tranquil garden oasis in a smart Medellin neighbourhood.

Patio del Mundo is a charming boutique hotel tucked away in woodland gardens just a few minutes’ walk from Medellín’s El Poblado, where you’ll find plenty of top quality restaurants, boutiques and bars.

It’s set in two renovated villas, and each classically-furnished room is subtly decorated to reflect the traditional décor of contrasting destinations, including France, Africa and Mexico.

The accent is on relaxation: there’s a hot tub, yoga, beauty and spa treatments; you can swing in a hammock on the terrace and take breakfast on the patio, surrounded by tropical foliage. Indeed, with orchids and mango trees on display, you’ll hardly believe you’re on the edge of a huge city.

What our clients say

  • Colombia was superb. A wonderful variety of scenery and cultures, and people trying their hardest to live normal lives and welcome visitors very genuinely.

    JK, Basingstoke Mar 2014
  • Highlights?: Coffee region and Tayrona, lovely people everywhere

    JM, St Albans Sep 2018
  • Highlight?: The local knowledge of the guides and their willingness to adapt to our needs. We were taken to places that were not part of the schedule. E.g. Local restaurants

    SD, Esher Mar 2017
  • Highlights?: I cannot really think of anything that wasn't memorable. Perhaps my overriding memory is of the friendliness and helpfulness of the ordinary Colombians I encountered.

    DM, Nottingham Jan 2018
  • San Agustin (was the highlight)...which was superb.

    DB, London Jan 2020
  • Highlight?: San Agustin statues for me, Cartagena for the kids.
