French-owned estancia with the nostalgic ambience of a grand country house. The décor is simple and tasteful, with antique details.

Beautiful Estancia La Bamba de Areco is set within its own parkland near the gaucho town of San Antonio de Areco. The estancia has been refurbished to an extremely high standard and is listed in the prestigious Relais & Chateaux portfolio.

The crimson colonial-style building is very attractive, while the whole property’s bygone era ambience blends effortlessly with its contemporary décor and furnishings. It has even been used as a location in several period films.

Guestrooms are simple and tasteful, varying in size and layout. Each room has different antique furniture, but they follow the same colour scheme of dark wood against white walls and white bedspreads.

There is an attractive swimming pool to enjoy during the warmer months. Other activities include walking within the grounds, bird watching, horse riding and carriage rides in the surrounding pampas. The resident gauchos are sure to impress with their equestrian skills.

Our Expert's Opinion

This really is a fantastic way to recover from your flight to Buenos Aires or to wind down at the end of a trip. Everything is to a high standard from the rooms, the beautiful grounds and the plentiful fantastic food. Their afternoon tea would rival those from the best tea rooms in London. All this together with gentle horse rides round the grounds on exquisite horses makes it a luxurious couple of days.
