OUR GUIDE TO the weather in the Ibera wetlands
These marshy wetlands are home to caiman, otters, howler monkeys and wolves, plus hundreds of species of bird. Weather wise this is a year-round destination, though the temperature grows extremely hot during summer (Dec - Feb) which can be uncomfortable. Autumn (March - May) and spring (September - November) bring cooler climates more suited to exploring the floating islands, lagoons and silvery streams of this protected nature reserve. In winter, temperatures drop to 20°C and wildlife is more subdued. The most rain falls between October and April, and a deluge of colourful birds migrate en masse between September and April.
