OUR GUIDE TO the weather in the Angel Falls and the Gran Sabana
High above savannah grasslands are the ancient table-mountain tepuys of the Gran Sabana. Here many waterfalls tumble from great heights, but the best known cascade is the Angel Falls, plunging nearly a kilometre over a vertical cliff in a single veil of spray. The best time for climbing Roraima is in the dry season which runs from December - April, although Angel Falls slows to a trickle by May. To see the falls at their most voluminous and dramatic, you’d do better to visit during the rainy season, particularly from August - September. Due to heavier cloud cover you run the risk of not seeing the falls from the air during the wet season, though you may wish to canoe from the foot of the falls.
