Trek to Huchuy Qosqo

per21-trek-to-little-cusco-im-free

Walk to the little-known ruins of Hutchuy Qosqo on one of Cusco's shorter treks.

A spectacularly situated Inca ruin whose Quechua name means ‘little Cusco’, Huchuy Qosqo (3,765m) can be visited by a rewarding day’s hike from Cusco or the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It’s also possible to spend a night camping in Pumamarca (3,963m) to see the sun rise over the Urubamba canyon before continuing on to visit other ruins or local markets.

The trek follows an old Inca road along the flank of a gaping ravine, passing rural communities under the watch of ever-present snowy peaks.
