With rustic over-water bungalows spilling out from the edge of a tiny, palm-shaded private island, the idyllic Yandup Island Lodge is the essence of simplicity: bamboo walls, thatched roofs, local textiles, ceiling fans and hammocks. There’s no hot water, but nor do you need it in the balmy temperatures of this tropical archipelago.
Caribbean vistas sweep out from almost all areas of the lodge, with some particularly lovely views from the dining room, where, befitting of the homely atmosphere, meals are served en famille. Fresh seafood is delivered straight from the nets each day and its flavours are emphasised by the delicious local cooking style.
Snorkelling and community tourism can be arranged from the lodge.
