The Bocas del Toro archipelago is renowned for its pristine beaches and diverse marine life in its reefs and mangroves, including manta rays, turtles, starfish, eels and shoals of tropical fish.

This informal hotel brims with colourful Caribbean flavour and is located in the bustling heart of Bocas Town, the capital of the archipelago. Like many waterside buildings in Bocas Town the front deck is perched above the ocean making it an ideal venue for sipping an ice-cold beer whilst chatting to fellow guests and observing the comings and goings of the water taxis.

All guests are welcome here although, as the name suggests, the hotel is popular with divers with an on-site dive centre, its own dive boats and a jetty right in front of the hotel.

The cheerful guest rooms have air con as well as balconies and it goes without saying that we always recommend choosing an ocean aspect. The restaurant and bar Pier 19 serves a range of Caribbean and international dishes with locally sourced produce served on a terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel has snorkels, SUPs and kayaks as well as bikes to rent to explore the island.

Just steps from the lively main street, the hotel is within easy reach of local bars, restaurants, and shops. It’s also perfectly positioned for joining boat tours to explore the area’s beaches, reefs, and nearby islands—and it’s only a short walk from the airstrip.
