This country inn lies on the outskirts of San Pablo del Lago, just south of Otavalo. Founded in 1602, it is one of the oldest haciendas in Ecuador.

This country inn lies on the outskirts of San Pablo del Lago, just south of Otavalo. Founded in 1602, it is one of the oldest haciendas in Ecuador.

Its rooms are furnished in colonial style, some with private patio, and many overlook the impressive gardens. Dotted around the grounds are 28 rustic rooms and cottages, each with en suite bathroom, safe and Wi-Fi. Next door, a newer building called El Monasterio (used for groups), with 12 modestly decorated rooms, has been added.

Facilities in the original section include a popular restaurant, a library/video room, bar and open fireplace. Mountain bikes are available to guests and squash and volleyball can also be played. Horse riding trips can also be organised, and the hacienda has its own stables.
