Explore the Almolonga Valley by bike, passing rugged hills, lava cliffs and ruins.
The Almolonga Valley was once home to Guatemala’s capital city, though when natural disasters struck the capital was moved to Antigua (where history would repeat itself). The ruins of Ciudad Vieja, destroyed in a mudslide in 1541, can be seen on this 4-hour cycling tour through volcanic landscapes. Pedal alongside a patchwork quilt of fields and farms and past the lava cliffs and rugged hills that lie in the shadow of the three volcanoes which surround Antigua.
