What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
Full marks for a lovely hotel situated in a beautiful location. All staff gave the impression that they were pleased to be of service, and consequently made a 100 per cent experience.GF, Cambridge
I found the trip most enjoyable and very thoughtfully arranged to maximise our experience - I have no complaints at all about the trip and found it extremely enjoyable. Our Guide was excellent - very friendly and informative and looked after us all very well. Overall an extremely enjoyable holiday.CW, Newcastle
Initially we were not so impressed with this accommodation but it warmed on us during our stay. The owner is a character & runs it a bit like a Blackpool B&B landlady rattling of a list of house rules when you arrive but these were not unreasonable. She regards the place not as a commercial 'hotel' operation but more like letting rooms out in her private home. There is no porter & you have to carry your own luggage...The room was pleasant with a high wooden ceiling but very dark and could do with more electric lighting. We could n't read at night at all. On the plus side it is quite characterful, if a bit old fashioned compared to some of the converted Casas now very upmarket boutique hotels. The breakfasts are substantial and it is ideally located in the heart of the old town of Cartagena. Our stay in this accommodation was an 'interesting' experience and overall we enjoyed the place.JS, St. albans
Staff were very friendly. Good position.WH, Stanmore
The train from El Fuerte to Divisidero was great - good views with the ability to take photographs through open windows, good food, comfortable seats.JDL, St Neots
Highlights: “So many highlights - relaxing and wine tasting on the Estancia, trekking on the glacier, enjoying the polo and good in Buenos Aires and the experience and animal spotting in Iguazú. Such a diverse range of activities and experiences in 1 country made for an amazing 2 week holiday”KB, Chelmsford
Highlights: Torres del Paine, especially the horse ride and walk to the base of the towers. Doing the first 2 hours on horse back (very slow and safe horses even if you have never ridden before like me) makes this accessible for anyone who is reasonably fit whereas walking the whole way might be beyond some people (min 4 hours each way and 2.000 ft+ up)VH Hindhead
Only to say thank you again to Konrad who went out of his way to help us when we were struggling with GOL. It was reassuring to know that he was working so very hard on our behalf. Much appreciated. Please thank him again from us.KE, Sheffield
Tikal - just stunning and with such an excellent guide who knew the history and natural history of the rain forest.DS, Wiltshire
Highlight?: The train journey to M Picchu and seeing M Picchu - absolutely awesome and I got a seat on the left of the train (for best views!). The tour of the Salt Flats and journey to San Pedro were stunning too. Really good tour guide during this part. Hannah at JLA was a great help before and during the holiday. She made it possible to visit on the desired dates (e.g. so I could go on a star gazing tour in San Pedro during a change in mood cycle). Always replied promptly to my emails. Especially appreciated little extras - e.g. being on the left of the train to M. Picchu for the best views, being allocated window seats on planes, etc. All this meant I could really enjoy the scenary. Stand out hotels were in Urubamba, M. Picchu, and Uyuni - all exceeding my expectations. I didn't realise so many lunches / dinners were included which was a great bonus.MP, Amersham
Small attractive hotel, good breakfast with local dishes. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.DB, Bedford
Great experience and the pilot made sure that everyone on the plane could see all the Nazca lines.US, London
"Good for its class."KM, Didcot
Favourite of the trip
“Casa Higueras merits a special mention of being our favourite of the trip. The restaurant was exceptional and the pool and spa also.”RC, Hampsteaf
Sophie understood our requirements superbly, and arranged a brilliant trip at a very good price. We loved Guatemala and Belize and this has given us a desire to explore more of Central and South America. We have been very impressed with your service, and shall definitely be using JLA again.JW, Bedford
Definitely worth trying to get a beach facing room. Whilst it was a 'generic' international hotel it was better than average and everything functioned pretty well.NM, London
The guide David was excellent, made the visits come alive, was so interesting. Brilliant tour guide!SC, Oswestry
Really glad I managed to see Huyana Picchu - I wasn't aware tickets were so limited before travelling. Thank you for the tip Hannah!MP, Amersham
"This was a good airport style hotel. It was exactly what was required for a one night stopover - not least because it had a restaurant which stayed open late."IAR,Melrose
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. Roof top bar lovely and relaxed and not too pricey. Room a little small and noisy with no view but didn't pay for sea view so not surprised.JW, Swadlincote
Slightly more hostel than hotel, but very atmospheric and peaceful. Good location.RK, Worcester
Easter Island was the focus of our trip and we were not disappointed. We loved that evocative unusual island with its unique history. We would have liked a full week there and would have included horse riding and cycling in our activities. We were lucky enough to see it wild and wet and stormy as well as calm and sunny and beautiful. Also - we had fantastic guides especially in Ecocamp and Easter Island - these men made our excursions so interesting with their wealth of specialist information and political, historical, anthropological and geological context - plus they were super nice personalities able to empathise with us and our children... We would have liked a few more days overall to enjoy the same itinerary but it worked well and we were glad Easter island was at the end of the trip not the beginning as originally requested. Really, you delivered everything we asked for.AK, Bahrain
Most memorable experience? “Archaeological sites extraordinary. Central square in Oaxaca wonderful. Surprise on upside, Aeromexico and immigration – both could teach UK and US plenty of things about service!”JC, Victoria
Comprehensive city tour (of Sucre) with a fascinating side trip to the cemetery (on All Saints Day)PP, Halesworth
Highlights were South Georgia – amazing king penguin colony, bathing in thermal pool and cooling off in Whalers Bay on deception island, the open air party as we left Paradise Bay, walking f the frozen Weddell seaHG, Surbition
Looking over Machu Picchu from a high point on the site, Watching the stars from the hot spring baths in Colca, the alpacas, drinking pisco sours!HS, Borehamwood
The Galápagos offer amazing access to stunning wild-life and a great week living on a boat.PJ, London
"We enjoyed an excellent 4 hour historical city tour in Lima which was a good way to learn about the city.”DP, Watford
Another great trip, so glad Paul WG peruaded us to do this trip!IC, Leigh On Sea
"Staff very helpful, hotel charming - in excellent location and our room was extremely comfortable. Breakfast staff very helpful - Aurelio and the chef. We had requested a quiet room, and it was quiet as it was at the back, even though the street at the front was noisy at the weekend. So we could enjoy the atmosphere in the street, yet retire to a quiet room. A super start to our holiday."RJ, Kenilworth
