Climb a Cuban table mountain
A strikingly flat block rising out of steamy tropical landscape, El Yunque is an unmistakable feature of the Baracoa skyline.
The hike to the summit takes around an hour and a half, but you'll want plenty of time for exploring this unusual table-top environment with its endemic species of plants and animals. The views commanded from the summit are also worth savouring: a forest of palms and jungle plants sweeps down to the coast.
