Grand Rio institution with the city's best pool and an assuredly first class approach to facilities, style and service.

Stay 4 nights for the price of 3 > > >

Belmond Copacabana Palace, one of the oldest buildings on Copacabana’s beachfront strip, is Rio’s most iconic hotel, oozing refinement and luxury. It is now owned and operated by the prestigious Belmond group (formerly Orient Express).

A fine neo-classical façade sets the tone for this sumptuous property, elegant and stylish throughout. Assuredly first class in its facilities and attitude to its guests, the hotel offers old-fashioned, attentive service.

Each of the rooms and suites is unique, varying in size and view – we recommend splashing out on a pool or sea view room and if you are staying for three nights or more, (please ask us about complimentary upgrades).

The swimming pool is the finest of any hotel in the city, and its terrace – the setting for Brazil's most sumptuous breakfast – is a delightful place to catch your breath between sightseeing, shopping, dining and people-watching.

What our clients say

  • Attentive staff, friendly check in, wonderful breakfast.

    MK, Southampton
  • First rate obviously but my only criticism is that the pool is in the shade most of the day and has no views as it is low level and overlooked…

    AL, London
  • They were very welcoming and upgraded our room to a sea view with a bottle of bubbly which was a lovely surprise.

    AF, Merriott
  • A wonderful end to our honeymoon. Our room had a fantastic view overlooking the beach and the facilities were second to none. There were a few small issues with service…

Our Expert's Opinion

Once exclusive to the elite of Brazilian society, the Copacabana Palace is perfect for a bit of self-indulgence and is still popular with presidents, rock stars, and celebrities. It was recently voted one of the top ten hotels in the world.
