Caiman is a top quality eco-lodge offering fantastic wildlife-watching in the Pantanal wetlands of Brazil.

Caiman is one of the best places to stay in the Pantanal, thanks to its excellent facilities and service. Also known as Refúgio Ecológico Caiman, the prestigious reputation of this exceptional ecolodge has not waned in more than 30 years we have been sending guests here.

Caiman sits in a vast private reserve in the beautiful Pantanal, an enormous wetland brimming with wildlife—soaring birds from egrets to parakeets and giant storks, lumbering capybaras, abundant caiman dozing on the riverbanks, anteaters, and roaring howler monkeys.

You can be a spectator to this wildlife theatre at Caiman, where guests enjoy a high standard of comfort whilst surrounded by marshes, lagoons and pastures. Customised meals, top quality guides and swimming pools to cool off in enhance your experience.

The enterprising lodge is well known for its conservation work with macaws and jaguars and jaguar-tracking activities can be pre-booked. Although sightings of jaguar are not assured, over the last decade Caiman has become one of the best places in Brazil to catch a glimpse of them. We recommend booking well in advance.
