Go trekking at the end of the world

If you’re drawn to the idea of wild and remote lands, and hungry for an experience that is genuinely unlike any other, trekking in Tierra del Fuego is a perfect way to unleash your sense of adventure.

This is the furthest edge of the South American landmass, where the continent tapers off into the icy ocean. However there is a life to the landscape that surprises those arriving from the empty expanses of desolate Patagonian steppe further north. There are even dense evergreen forests carpeting the dramatic mountain valleys, though of course there’s no lack of glaciers, icebergs and snowbound peaks to remind you that you’re closer to Antarctica than you are to Buenos Aires.

We can arrange a 3-day trek taking you deep into this beautiful and haunting terrain, climbing high passes, skirting lakes and traversing emerald-green valleys hemmed in on either side by towering walls of rock.

This is an isolated virgin wilderness, so facilities are more or less non-existent – camping beneath nameless mountains miles from any trace of civilisation will remind you just what a uniquely untamed and untrodden part of the country you are in. However, on arrival back in Ushuaia at the end of the remarkable experience, you’ll be amply rewarded by a return to Argentina’s sophisticated pleasures.
