During the summer months, temperatures in the wetlands become very hot and humidity is relatively high. Wildlife thrives and migrating birds are visible en masse, but this is not an ideal time for outdoor activities as the heat can feel extreme.

Autumn brings cooler climates which are ideal for exploring outdoors. Birdwatching is excellent in March and April, when the wetlands are a habitat for hundreds of species of birds.

During the winter, temperatures are at their coolest and wildlife can be subdued and less visible. However, the climate is fairly dry.

September - November

Spring time is colourful in the wetlands, with spectacular wildlife viewing as breeding season begins. Temperatures are warm but not uncomfortably hot, although there is the most amount of rain during these months. Hundreds of species of birds are visible across the wetlands including the rare White-headed Marsh Tyrant or the impressive Sickle-winged Nightjar.
