Luxurious all suite ship with a great sense of light and space.

While in aspiration and temperament primarily an expedition ship, the ultra-modern World Explorer (2019) offers Antarctic cruises where on board comfort and top of the range facilities are a priority. Service is exemplary, with 125 qualified expedition staff and crew serving 176 guests.

The sleek, contemporary vessel has six floors of spacious accommodation in classic hotel-style suites, the discreet gold, cream and silver décor adding an air of distinction throughout. It’s tempting to spend time in the mellow carpeted lounges, with their sofas, soft lighting and comprehensive Polar library, but you won’t miss out on the drama of the unfolding scenery and wildlife sightings since guest suites (each with juliette or walk-on balconies) and public areas alike feature huge floor to ceiling windows offering skyline views, ideal for quiet contemplation.

You can of course observe the landscapes from the deck, which has a running track (the ship is 127m long) and inside there’s a gym, pool, sauna and spa, especially welcome after a day out in the chilly Antarctic environment: pre-bookable activities like kayaking, camping and paddle-boarding are offered.

The ship will be one of the speediest operating in Antarctica, with a top speed of 16kn she can travel between visitor sites efficiently, minimising the amount of time “at sea”.
