Parati

Jammed on the Atlantic coastline between steep forest-mantled mountains and an island-pitted jade green bay, Paraty is one of Brazil's most entrancing destinations for visitors. Founded in the 18th century to export gold, this little fishing port and leisure resort retains many buildings from that period, distinguished by their whitewashed walls, wrought iron balconies and colourfully painted doors and window frames.
Day 1: Transfer by road (4hrs) from Rio de Janeiro to Parati, passing through the beautiful 'costa verde', or green coast, so named for its steep, rugged hills blanketed by emerald-hued tropical foliage. Throughout the journey you will catch glimpses of golden-sand bays hemmed in by rocky cliffs tumbling into the Atlantic Ocean.
Days 2: There are 65 unspoilt, jungle-clad tropical islands in this bay off Brazil's Green Coast and 200 white-gold to russett, pristine beaches around their secluded shores. Sail to a few of the most beautiful on a schooner cruise around the bay. There is plenty of chance to swim in the clear blue sea and relax on some of the tropical beaches.
Day 3: By road back to Rio de Janeiro to continue your holiday or to the city’s airport for your international flight or beginning of your group tour.
Breakfast daily. Lunch day 2.
