Peaceful and attractive mountain lodge offering both standard and luxury accommodation in individual stone cottages set amidst flowery gardens.

2km from Urubamba in the scenic Sacred Valley of the Incas, the attractively designed Hotel Sol y Luna mountain lodge has both standard and luxury stone cottages set within its flowery gardens. The property is listed in the prestigious Relais & Chateaux portfolio.

All cottages have a private terrace and big open plan bathrooms, and in the premium category you'll also enjoy an outdoor Jacuzzi and a separate living room. Décor is beautiful, with local textiles and individual murals over the bed.

The lovely manicured gardens have excellent views of the surrounding Andean landscape, and there is a small pool in which to cool off. Regular daytime shows display the skill and training of the hotel's stable of paso horses.

There is a cosy restaurant, lounge bar and spa. Sol y Luna organises horse riding and mountain biking, as well as short walks and treks to points of interest in the area. The hotel offers gastronomic tours, workshops and other cultural activities. They also have a wine cellar.

Our Expert's Opinion

This is one of my favourites in the Sacred Valley and, a part of the Relais and Chateaux portfolio, it shouldn’t be a surprise! Excellent service, the food is delicious, and the rooms are tremendously comfortable. The only problem is not wanting to leave!
