Trek Las Cruces Trail

Built by Spanish conquistadors in a bid to carve out a route from the Pacific to the Caribbean, the Las Cruces trail passes through jungle terrain still peppered with historic remains and landmarks. Not all of the original stone path survives, but you can follow a well-preserved and scenic section of the trail for just under 10km.

Expect sweaty and muddy conditions, but also rewards that more than repay your efforts – there is beautiful scenery throughout as well as the chance to spot tree iguanas, three-toed sloths and osprey among other rainforest creatures. Once you've completed the trek, we'll pick you up in a motor boat for lunch on an island followed by a scenic journey through the surprisingly wild environs of the Panama Canal.
