The huge, low-rise luxury Buenaventura J.W. Marriott Resort and Spa by the sea is an hour or two’s drive from Panama City. Almost more like a beautifully manicured town than a hotel (there’s even an original colonial chapel), it’s an extremely elegant complex blending the latest in interior design with classic architectural influences.

Extensive sculptured gardens and atmospheric lighting endow it with a romantic ambience suitable for couples, while its smart guest rooms – bright and unashamedly luxurious with discreet, contemporary furnishings and indulgently plush bathrooms – appeal to holidaymakers and business people alike.
