Trek in the foothills of a Panamanian volcano

Blessed by a fine climate and fruitful soils, Boquete is a charming, bucolic region of rolling hills and fertile valleys overlooked by Barú’s dormant cone. The cloud-forests that lie beneath the volcano are a habitat for a rich variety of bird life, including the Resplendent Quetzal, the Three-Wattled Bellbird and the Long-Tailed Silky Flycatcher, as well as a bountiful array of fauna, from orchids and bromeliads to wild avocados. Spend half a day hiking through the private reserve around Finca Lérida to lose yourself in this fecund natural world.
