Hiking in Boquete’s cloudforest
The cloud-forested foothills of Barú Volcano near Boquete offer some of Panama’s most rewarding day hikes.
From the challenging Sendero Los Quetzales to the gentler Pipeline Trail, each route reveals a serene landscape alive with birdlife and a bountiful array of flora.
Look out for the vibrantly coloured Resplendent Quetzal (best seen from February to May), the Three-Wattled Bellbird, and the Long-Tailed Silky Flycatcher, set against a backdrop of moss-draped trees, orchids, bromeliads, and ferns.
