Finca Lerida
Finca Lerida is a prestigious coffee estate on the skirts of Panama's Baru volcano, with cosy guest rooms and restaurant welcoming visitors. Birding and coffee tours available.
Finca Lerida is a gorgeous coffee estate embedded in the rolling green Chiriqui hills of Panama’s fertile interior, carpeting the skirts of Barú volcano. Conceived and founded by a Norwegian family about 100 years ago, the plantation and its Scandanavian countryside-style house and guest accommodation welcome visitors to explore its private cloud forest, criss-crossed with bird-watching trails where the resplendent quetzal and other exotic species are frequently spotted.
Light and airy guest rooms are set in one-story blocks, each with its own terrace and hammock where you can peacefully watch birds and butterflies flitting around the many floral displays. There’s a gastro-pub, with open log fire creating a cosy atmosphere on cool evenings, and a modern restaurant which also offers al fresco dining. The property offers various excursions such as coffee tours and bird-watching, while the cafeteria sells the plantation’s coffee to be savoured alongside homemade cakes.
