Casa del Balam Hotel
Friendly and well-located hotel with stylish colonial touches in a converted historic residence.
The friendly Casa del Balam Hotel is situated just a couple of minutes’ walk from the laurel-lined main plaza. Its central position is convenient for visiting the attractions of Mérida and there are many open-air cafes in the vicinity and a charming ambience.
The hotel is in a converted historic house, with a courtyard in the middle and a modern block at the back. The decoration is classy but homely throughout, with heavy dark colonial furniture, wrought iron beds and marble-effect tiled floors adding a touch of colonial grandeur. A live pianist accompanies restaurant diners in the evening.
The 'L' shaped swimming pool has a small sun terrace with loungers and abundant foliage, affording unusual privacy for such a central location.

"Hotel Casa del Balam (Mexico) was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Staff wonderfully friendly and helpful and all great characters!”CC, London
Again good location, slightly quirky but thoroughly enjoyable. We liked Merida, maybe after the bustle of Mexico city this was to be expected. Hotel parking on same side as hotel.DB, Teddington
