A brand new, stylish luxury getaway deep in the remote Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, Mexico.

A remote getaway deep in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a world away from the large resorts of Mexico’s Riviera Maya.

The stylish Casa Chablé combines privacy and seclusion in a place of unrivalled natural beauty, surrounded by 12 acres of tropical jungle, powdery white sand, and turquoise waters.

The property sleeps only 20 guests in five bungalows dotted along the beach and five suites in the main villa. Rooms are elegantly appointed and in harmony with their surroundings, with sustainable tropical Parota wood furnishings and indigenous motifs by local artisans.

Meals are served in a thatched-roof restaurant, where Chef Jorge Vallejo, the mastermind behind Quintonil in Mexico City, has created innovative menus using fresh ingredients from their organic garden and, of course, plenty of fresh seafood. The rooftop lounge and bar, complete with plunge pool, is the perfect setting for cocktails when the sun begins to set over the Caribbean.

Wellness is a key part of the Casa Chablé experience, a chance to unplug and recharge. There’s an array of spa treatments on offer at an oceanfront open air spa, as well as meditation and yoga classes on the beach. Private guides can also take you kayaking through the Biosphere’s wildlife-rich mangroves and lagoons or lead you to secret cenotes and the local archaeological site of Muyil.

  • All of it was good.  The actual order of places I visited also coincided with the progression of history, from ancient to more recent.  Very well arranged indeed.

    DB, Birmingham
  • Most memorable experience: Going by fast boat on Usumcinta river to Yaxchilan where howler monkeys and a deserted site made an unforgettable impression. I could go on and on –…
