First class cruise vessels offering excellent service and a feeling of spaciousness and elegance on its scenic crossings between Chile and Argentina.

Rather than crossing by road between Chile and Argentina through one of the passes in the Andes, travel from one country to the other by sea - via Cape Horn. This first class Patagonian expedition cruise will take you to places inaccessible by land: velveteen fjords, virgin forests, immense glaciers and colonies of marine wildlife. This is a fabulous way to explore deep Patagonia in full comfort and well away from the everyday distractions of phone signals and the internet.

M/V Stella Australis and sister ship M/V Ventus Australis offer high standards of comfort and service, with a feeling of spaciousness and elegance throughout ensuring a really enjoyable and relaxing experience with open bar included on all cruises. Each has 100 or so roomy cabins which are stylishly decorated, each with a picture window framing the ever-changing view.

There’s a choice of lounges, deck areas, a dining room offering a sophisticated range of dishes, even a gym. Lectures on a range of subjects offer illuminating background information on the geography, wildlife and history of the region, and there are regular on-shore excursions which allow you to get closer to the spectacular scenery.

5-day cruises depart Punta Arenas (Chile) and Ushuaia (Argentina) twice a week. Conditions permitting, all cruises aim to land on Cape Horn, at the very tip of the Americas.

What our clients say

  • Lovely cabin with big picture windows, well judged excursions, and we were lucky to be on an English speaking table with very friendly people, so had a very sociable time.

  • Exceeded ALL our expectations. Some of us are picky too ! Alicia our guide was exceptional. The whole thing is amazing. We were very lucky with weather and actually made it ROUND the Horn !  Memorable.

    RH, Carshalton
  • Very well organised, excellent trips ashore and lectures by the crew Food and cabin: very good

    ND Bristol
  • “Wow! Can't believe where we've been on this one. So remote and amazing all the way, places of legend we never thought we'd see. The weather was kind as well and we made all our landings and excursions, including standing on Cape Horn. Well worth the expense, recommend anybody to do it once”

    NL, Dursley
  • Cabins slightly smaller than expected. It would be worth warning people that there are no clothes washing facilities (as these tend to be available on cruises). Guides and talks were excellent.

    CJ, Twickenham
  • The highest praise for this experience - in every single aspect. The highlight of the trip.  Cabin amazingly spacious and well appointed.  In fact we think the much more expensive cabins had the same configuration, just on higher  decks.  Engine noise was minimal. Wonderful in all aspects including the weather
