Avocado experience

Nowadays avocados pop up everywhere from your local street market to Waitrose, but have you ever wondered what goes into producing them? On a tour from Antigua, Guatemala you’ll  witness all the processes involved in cultivation of avocado, from flowering to harvesting, and from classification through to maturing, packing and distribution.

Your English-speaking guide will steer you through the nursery, explaining step-by-step how the fruit is cultivated from seed to avocado tree, and move on to visit the processing plant to learn more about the storage, sorting, maturing, packing and distribution.

;After the tour – naturally - you will have the opportunity to taste the ripe fruit and you will also learn how to make its signature product, guacamole.  Later there’s a short pause to enjoy the coffee-garden which has beautiful mountain views.
