Peaceful and refined boutique hotel in a restored colonial mansion, bedecked with period furnishings, chandeliers and tapestries.

The peaceful Mansion Alcazar Hotel is located just a few blocks from Cuenca’s main square. The main building’s architectural details have been retained and restored, and the period furnishings, chandeliers and tapestries help show them off to great effect.

There are 23 rooms and suites in total, split between three separate buildings. Those in the main building are individually furnished in a classic colonial style; those in the garden enjoy a peaceful setting, more contemporary touches, and a little extra space; while those at the rear of the property are ultra-modern, with added mod-cons, much more space and a very different design.

There is a bar and lounge set around a central fountain with a reading room and the garden to the rear, and a formal dining room where gourmet meals are served. Hotel facilities include a champagne lounge (high tea also served) and library. Clients praise the friendly staff who make for a sociable stay.
