Friendly, family-owned hotel set on a hillside overlooking the river. The building is a restored Republican era mansion with authentic Ecuadorian features.

The friendly, family-owned Hotel Vitoria is set on a hillside, a stroll away from the main square of Cuenca and overlooking the river. The building is a restored Republican era mansion with authentic Ecuadorian features.

Rooms are simply but stylishly decorated, with polished wood predominating, and many have wonderful views. Some even have a private terrace from which to enjoy them.

There is bar and very well regarded restaurant. The staff enjoy a reputation for friendliness and helpfulness.

Our Expert's Opinion

I love the quirkiness of this hotel, you can feel the history of the building with alcoves, balconies and overhangs everywhere. The location is second to none, overlooking the river to one side (the restaurant offers great views) and the bustling colonial streets to the front, it makes exploring this beautiful city very easy.
