Cienfuegos

June - November

This is the wet season, with steamy humidity and the heaviest rains arriving in late July. Between August and November, hurricanes and storms are possible. Weather aside, numerous local celebrations mean this is still a good time to visit. The Fiesta de los Amigos del Mar in Cienfuegos in July involves fabulous water sports demonstrations and sailing regatta, while the Cienfuegos Carnival in Aug ignites the streets with swaying rhythms, lively parades and traditional dance. The city even has a festival in September dedicated entirely to the internationally respected singer Benny Moré, the most famous musician to come out of Cienfuegos.
