Jungle-shrouded lodge of wooden cabins, designed for nature lovers who are happy to tune out and disconnect while on holiday.

Just steps from Playa Chiquita's pristine sands, Namuwoki Lodge Resort is embraced by dense tropical forest and floral plants. Stay in one of the handful of wooden cabins, each with a private, hammock-slung terrace, and enjoy the pool and Jacuzzi.

The hotel caters for nature lovers who are happy to tune out and disconnect while on holiday: there is no TV or Wifi to distract from the attractions of the wild environment, which reverberates with howler monkey calls. The jungle setting dominates the buildings rather than the other way round, and a stay here offers a sense of immersion in nature. Sloths and exotic birds are frequent visitors to the grounds.

What our clients say

  • It was all pretty memorable but the view of the Arenal volcano from our boat transfer across the lake sticks in my mind. It was a completely clear day and the volcano was steaming. Also the sleeping toucan on the El Refugio Twilight Tour. Also Rio Perdido was a lovely place for a couple of days relaxation.

  • The wildlife in Costa Rica is incredible and it is everywhere you go and very immediate. Add to that beautiful scenery and very friendly people and it is a great holiday destination.

    MJ, Canary Wharf
  • Highlights “Our overall impression was how lovely all the people were that we met, amazing wildlife and very good food. Our most memorable experience was probably kayaking at Tortuguero although we also did a very good night walk when we were staying at Arenal, and spotted loads of frogs, toads, snakes and spiders.”

    JP, Newtown
  • Highlights?: Seeing the Quetzal with Carlos; finding the MotMot on our own at La Quinta; seeing the Eyelash Pit Viper on the Hanging Bridges trip; all of the 5 days with Esteban and Alberto were brilliant (and my husband seeing the Roseate Spoonbill and Jabiru at Palo Verde - I loved the Fiery Aricaris a few feet in front of us at Rio Magnolia). In all we saw 234 species of birds.

    MCB, Stockport
  • So hard to pick out an individually memorable part. If pushed then we would have to select the two river wildlife trips (Tortuguero and Cano Negro) and overall the friendly nature of everyone that we had dealings with. Also having the wildlife right on our doorstep at each accommodation was very special.

    SY, Solihull
  • Highlight?: Seeing turtles laying eggs on the beach in Tortuguero
