A boutique hotel steeped in history and ideally located for exploring Santa Marta’s vibrant historic centre.

Hotel Don Pepe is a charming boutique hotel set in the heart of Santa Marta’s compact historic centre, with the Cathedral, Plaza Bolívar and Paseo de Bastidas, the city’s waterfront, all just a short walk away.

Formerly the residence of a prominent Colombian family, the property retains a strong sense of heritage. Its 12 rooms and suites – each named after one of Don Pepe’s children and his wife – subtly reflect elements of their personalities, blending understated elegance with antiques and family keepsakes. All offer air conditioning and interior views overlooking the courtyard or pool. The suites are more spacious, featuring a separate living area, terrace and hot tub.

Intimate and characterful, the hotel has a peaceful, romantic feel and is well suited to small celebrations, including weddings. A couple of small pools are tucked around the property, perfect for cooling off in the Caribbean heat. Other facilities include a small spa for massages, a rooftop terrace – where the sunsets are beautiful – and an on site restaurant serving refined regional dishes. Numerous cafés, restaurants and bars – particularly around Parque de los Novios – are also just steps away.
