Tierra Atacama
Extremely stylish and contemporary boutique hotel with a rustic-chic aesthetic, inspired by the colours and textures of the desert.
Tierra Atacama was built on a former cattle corral, the adobe walls of which have been preserved and incorporated into its rustic-chic design. The hotel has a cutting edge, minimalist style which nevertheless reflects aspects of San Pedro de Atacama's cultural history. Proud of its environmental achievements, in late 2017 the hotel announced its entire reliance on solar energy.
The rooms are individually decorated and thoroughly contemporary in design, taking inspiration from desert hues and natural textures. They all have private terraces and views over the Licancabur volcano and offer a serene environment, deliberately free from the distraction of television.
The hotel restaurant uses fresh local ingredients including vegetables from its own garden. Meals are taken communally, adding to the informal, sociable atmosphere of the lounge and bar where guests can mingle in the evening. You can also relax around the swimming pool amongst the landscaped gardens or on a sunken sofa on the terrace, warmed by open fire pits.
There’s a choice of daily excursions including hikes, a day trip to the Tatio Geysers and bike rides through small local villages. On your return, you can wind down at the spa or in the Jacuzzi.
