This beautiful boutique property is one of the best hotels in Paraty, exuding colonial charm with spacious suites overlooking a verdant garden and outdoor pool.

With an ideal location on Brazil's Costa Verde close to the centre of town, Posada Literaria is a restored colonial mansion, taking its name from Paraty's annual literary festival in July. The pousada has a select range of spacious guest rooms, suites and villas, combining traditional and modern styles with colourful décor, luxurious bedding, wooden flooring, rugs, bathrooms with robes and Natura amenities, air-con, TV and Wifi.

The inn has a large library befitting its literary heritage, as well as an attractive swimming pool with sunloungers, spa and gym. The popular farm-to-table restaurant Quintal das Letras offers a range of local Caiçara cuisine using mainly organic ingredients. You're also perfectly positioned to explore this UNESCO World Heritage town on foot and sample its many excellent restaurants.

Our Expert's Opinion

Paraty is full of beautiful boltholes but Pousada Literaria is well-known for being among the very best. As soon as you get here you can tell they run a very impressive and slick operation, with great attention to detail and very well drilled, well-trained staff.
