Well-loved resort set within vast well-tended grounds dotted with palm trees, restaurants, pools and excellent sports facilities.

This attractive Tivoli Eco-Resort has an excellent reputation and has long been popular with our clients. It is situated on a glorious strip of forest-backed beach close to the former fishing village of Praia do Forte, now an amiable and low key little tourist resort an hour's drive north of Salvador.

Following refurbishment it is now even better than ever. Sprawling over vast well-tended grounds, speckled with palm trees and hammocks, it has superb pools and sports facilities including tennis, volleyball, soccer and water sports. Bright and contemporary guest bedrooms are spread throughout the gardens in smart two-storey blocks.

Three restaurants offer dishes inspired by local Bahian cuisine as well as top-quality international food. While adults might indulge themselves in the blissful new Thalasso spa, children can take part in a huge programme of educational and entertainment activities and there's a kids' restaurant too.

What our clients say

  • Highlight: Walking on the trails through the rainforest on Ilha Grande.

    CB, Leeds
  • Iguazu Falls, both sides spectacular, getting a flavour of Rio and being taken such good care of as a single traveller.

    MB, Thatcham
  • Expert help in tailoring a holiday that took in the nature of the country (the Amazon), the cities (Manaus, Rio and Salvador) and the idyllic beaches of Bahia - all in a not overly rushed two weeks.

    DA, West Norwood
  • Rio - the ultimate party city. The Pantanal - fascinating wildlife. Iguacu - Wow ! And the Andes - Incredible. We ran out of superlatives to describe what we were seeing.

    PM, Stamford Brook
  • Most memorable was the approach toward the Falls on impossibly built metal walkways you could not have imagined the spectacle laid out before you.  Our guide who sat on the prow of the boat and the atonishment as he leaped into the water distracting a Cayman and bringing it on board tightly held  The view from the top looking down on Rio from the location of the Redemmer.

    AC, Saffron walden
  • Most memorable experience: "There are too many! looking down from Christ the Redeemer at sun set in Rio, using the local buses to get about town, sitting at an outdoor cafe on Ilha Grande and swimming in the natural pool outside of Paraty."

    ZB, London

The bright and colourful rooms, tropical grounds, and direct access to the beach made for a wonderful Bahian beach break. Even if you don’t go in for a treatment, the spa’s hydrotherapy circuit is a must and I found the pool here to always be quiet enough to fit in a few laps before dinner – I’d recommend working up an appetite for the bountiful dishes and incredible desserts on offer!
