A top quality mid-sized hotel on Copacabana beach with a good range of modern facilities.
This agreeable modern hotel has surely one of Rio’s best locations, right on Copacabana beach, within easy reach of the shops and restaurants of the city’s buzziest neighbourhood. It’s a medium-sized, superior quality hotel in a multi-story building and, in common with its sister Windsor properties, is decorated in muted colours and furnished in classy, no-fuss business style. Executive rooms are front-facing with views of the beach, while deluxe rooms and suites are at the top with balconies. One interesting feature for families is that on each floor at the end of the corridor three rooms can be closed off to create a connected space.
There's a good range of facilities including an open-air plunge pool with loungers on the roof, with sweeping views along the beach and out over the ocean, sauna, fitness room, excellent restaurant and beach service opposite the front of the building with loungers and sunshades, refreshment service and security.

Wow, so many it's hard to choose the most memorable aspect. Sunrise on the lake in the Pantanal was just wonderful. The exhilaration of standing at the devil's throat on the Argentinian side of Iguacu falls. Having the Brazilian Iguacu trail all to ourselves at sunset, when the park was closed but we could still stroll out of our hotel and soak up the view. Seeing wild toucans at Iguacu. Having a family of capybaras living outside our hut in the Pantanal and seeing wild macaws and howler monkeys. We had a great time on the plane from Salvador to Morro de Sao Paulo - tiny but brilliant views and very exciting. We also loved our boat trip around the islands and beaches near Paraty. We took a small sailing boat which made it extremely peaceful. The boat trip at Iguacu was also fantastic but be warned you do get completely soaked. Having a hot tub in our living room at Vila dos Orixas!TH, Arsenal

We were warmly welcomed at the California and the service was excellent throughout our entire stay. The hotel is pristine and I was surprised by how spacious our room was. Directly across from Copacabana beach it’s perfectly located, and I found the rooftop pool an excellent place to cool off after a fun-filled day out in Rio.
