Sofitel Rio
Chic and sophisticated first class hotel with an enviable location and exceptional facilities, including two pools to catch both morning and afternoon sun.
The Sofitel has an enviable position at the end of world-famous Copacabana beach and its lively promenade, the Avenida Atlântica. Just beyond is Ipanema with its equally vibrant beach life and a choice of chic bars and cafés.
All rooms come equipped with flat screen TV, minibar, marbled bathroom and – a real bonus in Rio – a balcony or terrace. We particularly like the deluxe rooms as they have direct ocean views.
There are two swimming pools – one to catch the morning sun, the other for the afternoon. A full Brazilian breakfast is served in the first-floor restaurant and on the sunny terrace, which enjoys sweeping sea views. If you feel like a workout afterwards, there's an impressive gym.

Amazing View!!
"Sofitel’s rooms are always very well designed and equipped but, in this instance, there were two huge bonuses in that it is perfectly positioned at the Ipanema end of Copacabana, right opposite the Fort (a very good place for a shady snack), which also meant that the view from our room (no. 502) took in the whole sweep of Copacabana beach, with Sugar Loaf mountain at the end, without even having to turn your head! I wouldn’t even try the Copacabana Palace, instead, for these reasons.”
