Small and elegant colonial hotel in the centre of Sucre, decorated in a style befitting its history but with nods to contemporary interior design.

Once a stately house and stables, the small colonial Parador Santa Maria la Real is situated very close to the main square in Sucre. Décor is in keeping with the period in which the house was built, with brightly painted courtyards and atriums and a peppering of antiques, religious paraphernalia and potted plants. The elegant and well-equipped rooms and suites have wooden floors and comfy antique beds, and each looks out onto a patio lined with arched colonnades.

Facilities include a restaurant, spa, Jacuzzi and attractive roof terrace with great panoramic views of the city. There is also an art gallery located in a previously undiscovered large cellar and tunnel, where intimate meals can also be arranged. In fact, it’s a great choice for couples all round.
