Visit  the Mayan ruins of Lamanai by road or part kayaking along a picturesque river.

Now engulfed in lush jungle, the Mayan pyramids and temples of Lamanai once formed a prominent religious and civic centre.

You can enjoy a guided excursion by road or, if you are staying at Lamanai Lodge, travel part of the way on an adventurous kayaking trip along the New River. Along the way there will be opportunities to spot some of the region’s vibrant bird life, and perhaps crocodiles and howler monkeys.
