One of San Pedro's longest-established properties, Sunbreeze is friendly, well-run and great choice for visitors seeking convenience and value on Ambergris Caye.

Sunbreeze is great for the budget-conscious traveller who values choice and freedom. You couldn't be more conveniently located for taking advantage of everything the resort town of San Pedro has to offer, whether you're after waterside cocktails, a golf buggy to get around, a seafood dinner or a snorkelling tour. Situated at the end of San Pedro's main street it's also moments away from the water taxi to Belize city and literally across the road from the airport's tiny terminal (served by a steady flow of light aircraft traffic during the day).

The hotel has something of a Mexican flavour with its warm orange exterior, creamy arches and colourful tiles. Being of the San Pedro's original hotels, it has a generous plot so it's easy to find your own corner within the hotel grounds. The hotel sits directly behind the shore and has its own jetty, and although swimming in the sea here is not recommended due to the comings and goings of local boats (there are quieter sections of beach within a 10 minute walk). Right behind the oceanfront is an elevated area with a wooden-decked swimming pool, bar and Blue Water Grill restaurant with sea views. The air-conditioned guest rooms are on two levels, the second of which has a communal terrace overlooking the pool. There's also an on-site dive centre where snorkelling can also be organised.

Our Expert's Opinion

With so much on your doorstop, you won't feel tied down at Sunbreeze. Although there's no sandy beach here the oceanfront is appealing with decking and sunbeds and a great spot to watch the world go by.
