Estancia Los Potreros
Warmly welcoming estancia offering superb riding opportunities, a wonderfully homely atmosphere and a real sense of history.
One of the warmest welcomes in Latin America awaits you at the Anglo-Argentine working cattle ranch Estancia Los Potreros, where by day you ride across rolling open hills, and by night enjoy home-cooking and wine accompanied by the entertaining anecdotes of your hosts.
There is a real sense of history at this isolated ranch, which has been in the same family for generations and where English is the spoken language. But its prime drawcard has to be its stable of 50 excellent, responsive horses, along with a network of riding trails across glorious sierras and meadows.
Non-riders are welcome while it is riding enthusiasts who might get the most out of a stay here. That said, it's a perfect opportunity for beginners, as the horses are so sure-footed and well-trained it’s also an excellent choice for families with children or even grandparents who would like to try their skill in the saddle.
The 200-year-old ranch house offers wonderfully homely guestrooms dotted with books and antiques passed down through the family. Great care is taken to ensure that guests are comfortable, both in and out of the saddle. Besides riding, guests can take part in polo matches, walking and birdwatching, and there is an outdoor pool to enjoy on relaxed summer afternoons.
