Visit Falkland Islands penguin colonies

Mingle with everybody’s favourite bird at enormous breeding colonies all along the rugged coastline.
Every austral summer, as many as a million penguins nest in the Falklands. These include the impressive king penguin with its burnt orange highlights, the punky rockhopper and the gentoo, present in greater numbers here than anywhere else on Earth.
These loveable and rather comical birds live in huge colonies that vastly outnumber the island's human settlements. You can wander among chattering crowds of penguins and see them courting, nesting or fledging their chicks depending on the season in which you visit.
