One of the world's leading boutique hotels Nayara Springs villas is a luxury retreat for couples in the lush foliage of Arenal Volcano National Park.

This Relais & Chateaux adult-only boutique property represents the ultimate first class wind-down, set in luxuriant Costa Rican countryside. Here, you really have the feeling of being enveloped by the tropical rainforest. The romantic hotel, proud to be totally guest-focussed, is remarkably well thought of by both its guests and our visiting staff. There are just 35 independent palapa-style villas, each spacious and beautifully appointed with polished teak flooring and furnishings in earthy colours, every one featuring a king-sized four-poster bed and a private garden with a plunge pool shaded by palms and flowering shrubs.

There are four eating options including gourmet restaurants; a fitness room and comprehensive spa (daily complimentary yoga classes are offered).  Optional activities on offer include adventure sports such as rafting and horse riding as well as more sedate guided walks in the forest.

Nayara Springs It is connected by a rainforest hanging bridge to its nearby sister hotel Nayara Resort, Spa and Gardens, the facilities of which the Nayara Springs guests can use (but, to protect the privacy and exclusive feel to the couples-orientated Springs Villas, this is not reciprocal).

What our clients say

  • Highlight: All of Osa - the guided walks in the forest, the early bird-watching trip, the food, watching spider monkeys from the beach and toucans from the balconies, the friendly owners and staff: the guided Toruguero river trip; the view of the volcano and lush bird-filled greenery from our balcony at Lost Iguana; the flight across the mountains....Both my experiences (Cuba and this one) with JLA have generally been well-organized, and have given me a real understanding of what each country has to offer, whether wildlife or history, and all staff have displayed a knowledgeable and caring attitude. Thank you. I hope I shall travel with you again.

  • Highlights?: Very hard to select 1 or 2 things. However would probably say Travelling to and staying at Tortuga Lodge and the excursions into the Jungle (in 3 days we saw over 60 different birds / mammals / reptiles !!!) and also the Zip lining at Arenal - breathtaking and exhilarating - what views and what an adrenalin rush ! ! ...Costa Rica is an amazing country - small, but with so much to offer and so diverse ! The people were very friendly and welcoming and the weather was great !

  • Highlight? We did a night hike in Monteverde and saw snakes, sloths, owls.

    SW, London
  • Highlight?: Turtles laying, sloths scratching, toucans screeching, frogs jumping, iguanas climbing, Mayan steps galore, sharks a swimming, stalactite dodging in the blue hole...All in all brilliant

  • Costa Rica is too beautiful to miss!

  • It was all pretty memorable but the view of the Arenal volcano from our boat transfer across the lake sticks in my mind. It was a completely clear day and the volcano was steaming. Also the sleeping toucan on the El Refugio Twilight Tour. Also Rio Perdido was a lovely place for a couple of days relaxation.
