Sumptuous luxury hotel with a prestigious history and glitzy guest list – a Buenos Aires institution.

Situated in the fashionable Recoleta district of Buenos Aires, this opulent and highly prestigious Alvear Palace Hotel boasts an illustrious guest list. Like them you can enjoy the luxury of its rooms, its elegant restaurant and regal public areas.

The grand institution truly reflects the elegance and style of this, Latin America’s most sophisticated city. It has been around for a long time, witnessing the rise and fall of governments and the economy, and has hosted other timeless institutions, such as Mick Jagger.

The lobby and other public areas have a dazzling over-the-top opulence, with Hollywood-style staircases and chandeliers, sumptuous furnishings and fabrics. Guestrooms and suites are classically decorated and welcoming.

Service throughout is superb, and not as stuffy as first appearances may lead you to believe. If you are occupying a deluxe suite (or above) you'll even have a white-gloved butler to attend to your needs. Breakfast at the hotel's orangerie is one of the most mouth-watering and varied of any on the continent, a pleasurably civilised way to begin your day.

Our Expert's Opinion

An impressive classical style hotel with an excellent central location on Avenida Alvear. The rooms have all the comforts you’d expect of a hotel of this calibre, however it’s the personalised service and attention to details which sets this property apart. The breakfast buffet is quite the experience and don’t miss afternoon tea in the lovely L’Orangerie. If you do like a little extra space during your stay, go for one of the junior suites or above.
